Just Magnolia week 35 - sketch by Martine

Second post of the day.
The sketch over at Just Magnolia is lovely and the cards by the DT are fab. Here is my entry. I have used a Tilda stamp from the Fall set which I have coloured with Promarkers. Tha paper is from my stash and cardstock is DCWV. The flowers are from my stash too. The sentiment was from a set of 4 from Cuddly Buddly and I have also used Nestabilities.
I would love to hear your comments

Mojo Monday 115

Yipeeeee!!!!! Donny won Dancing with the stars!!!!. I know he wasn't the best dancer, Miya was, but he was still good and at nearly 52 he was the oldest to win the competition. I knew he could do it. I'm sure it helped him knowing I was watching!!!!!!!

Anyway hope you all had a good weekend. Not too much wind or rain. Wasn't little Joe excellent in X Factor. I want him to win.

Well down to cards. Here's my effort for Mojo Monday. Hope I'm not too late to submit. The sketch was lovely to follow. I have put one of the flowers I made following Michele's tutorial. Told you you would see a lot of them. They are so addictive to make. For once I have made a card without Promarkers!!!!!
Will try to do a few more cards for challenges so may put on a few more posts
Don't forget to check out the Totally Gorjuss blog where we have a great challenge for you this week and the sponsor is The Hobby house.
Love to read your comments so please leave some for me

Totally Gorjuss - challenge7 - not a card

Happy Friday everyone
I'll be glued to the TV tonight as Donny is in the final in Dancing with the Stars, America's Strictly. He's not the best dancer Miya is but i'm sure his fans will vote, vote, vote. Mind you Kelly Osbourne has really blossomed and become a good dancer and quite a lady too. Perhaps I should join. Could work wonders for me too!!!! Not sure they make the dresses big enough though!!

Anyway, as it's Friday there is a new challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. It is anything but a card, so let your creative juices flow, bags, boxes, card holders, trinket boxes etc. so long as you have a Gorjuss Girl on it. I can't remember who is sponsoring us this week but as soon as I find out I will amend this post to let you know. The numbers entering have started to increase so thank you everyone who has joined in and to those who submit every week. Please spread the word about the challenge on your blog and feel free to display the TG challenge logo
Well I have to go now and get ready for Donny. He expects me to be watching!!!!!

3 challenges in 1

Thankyou to Net for my lovely award. What a great surprise. I really do appreciate it Net. So now I need to let you know 5 things about me
  1. I love pruning bushes and trees!!!
  2. yellow is my favourite colour but I always wear black
  3. I wish I could dance like the professionals on Strictly
  4. My dream is to design cards for a magazine
  5. I always wanted 9 children (realized 2 was enough!!!)
I will now send this award to:

I was supposed to be going to the Good Food Show today at the NEC. I've been looking forward to it for weeks but because Daniel still isn't well I didn't think i would be a very good mother leaving him on his own all day( even though he is nearly 19 and several inches taller than me!!!) So what else is there to do? The garden, ironing, housework, cooking a wholesome meal for the family? Nah. Make a card!!!!
I'm being very daring today attempting 3 challenges on one card. The challenges are
  1. Truly scrumptious - sketch to follow
  2. ABC challenge - indigo blue
  3. DU2D challenge - glitter
Hopefully I have managed all 3

The sketch is really nice to follow and for the flourish I have used a Sizzix flourish die and Stickles. I might add some rhinestone or red gems when it has dried. Haven't decided yet. The indigo blue is in the paper and cardstock and the glitter is the Stickle flourish and some Stickles on her bow. I distressed the edges of the paper/cardstock with an edge distresser. The image is a digi image from The Greetings Farm coloured with Promarkers.

Sugar Bowl Challenge 24 - Marlene’s Sketch

Good news. Took Daniel to the doctors. He hasn't got Swine Flu but he has got a virus and has been given a week of work and some antibiotics.
Well its ages since I entered a Sugar Bowl challenge so her's my offer following Marlene's sketch which has to include zig zags.
The image is a Manga boy from Funky Kits and coloured with Promarkers. The paper is from my stash and I have used DCWV cardstock which I have embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder and then sanded. The card is finished off with candy dots.
Have a good evening

Any one for Anya? and Passion for Promarkers

Hello everyone. Hope all of you are well. Is it blustery and wet by you? Hope you are all coping okay. My thoughts are with all those who have been flooded recently.
My son, Daniel is off work today. He's been ill since Friday. We thought he had swine Flu( spoke to a nurse at our doctors) . They put us in touch with the Swine Flu pandemic center who say he hasn't got it. So now I have to take him to the doctors tonight at 5.30 pm. Hopefully they can sort him out.
The card I have made today covers 2 challenges, Anyone for Anya? and Passion for Promarkers.
AFA's theme is faux so I have made a flower. My first one following the Fabulous tutorial by Michele Roos. The colour theme for PFP is Burnt umber and marsh green. I pretty much stuck to just the two colours on my Anya image. The sentiment is a Sizzix embossing folder with Sizzix cardstock that I lightly sanded. The flower is made from handmade papers cut from a Sizzix die. Paper was from my stash.
Don't forget to check out the Totally Gorjuss blog and have a go to win this weeks prize
Happy crafting

Just Magnolia week 32 Masking

I am entering this card to the challenge. I made it 2 weeks ago for some friends for their anniversary. As the theme this week at Just Magnolia is masking I thought this card would be okay as I have masked Tilda on the wine glass and Edwin on the greenery. The images are coloured with Promarkers and the cardstock is DCWV Christmas stack. I just love all these stamps!!!! I have also added Stickles to various parts of the image.
There is a new challenge at Totally Gorjuss so hop on over and give it a go. Don't forget there is a prize!!!
Have a good weekend. Hope it's not to wet or windy

Just Magnolia week 31 - sketch from Mina

My second post of the day.
I had a lovely card group this afternoon - Stamping and Promarkers and a bit of scrapbooking too. And Hobbycraft rang me up and offered me their new magazine, one free for each member of my card lessons. So that was nice as it has £35 worth of vouchers in it
Well here is my entry for Just Magnolia. It's been ages since I've entered their challenge. The sketch was nice to follow. I made Circle flowers with a sizzix die, a Magnolia stamp ( of course are entering the Just Magnolia Challenge duh !!!), Promarkers, brads and Brenda Pinnock papers.
Please ;eave a comment whether it's about this card or anything else. have a good evening

Anyone for Anya? Getting round to it

Haven't had any time recently to enter any challenges as I have been busy making samples for the shows ( now finished) and for the Totally Gorjuss blog too.
This is my entry for the Anyone for Anya challenge. You had to use circles somewhere on the card so I made theses circle flowers. I used 3 Anya images which I masked to get them to overlap (tutorial in my side bar)
What do you think?

Magnolia anniversray card

I have made this card for 2 friends who come to my card making and scrap booking lessons. They also happen to be married to each other. I do hope they like it. I have used sticles on the leaves and on Tilda but it probably doesn't show on the photo.

Totally Gorjuss challenge - Bling bling

Hi did anyone watch an audience with Donny and Marie? I couldn't take my eyes of the screen. When I was younger I wanted to marry Donny and look like Marie. Never managed either.. Well never mind. There's still time......
This is my card for the Totally Gorjuss challenge blog. If you have any of these beauties then please make a card for the challenge. Even if you only have 1 or 2 stamps don't worry you can use them every week if you want to. We would love you to spread the word too so maybe you could put our logo on your sidebars. Thankyou very much.

A great NEC

HI everyone, especially all of you who came to the Hotshotcrafts stand and said hello ( and bought Promarkers too, I reckon there will be a colouring frenzy going on now!!!!)
The show was a great success. It was packed with people. Unfortunately for me I didn't really get the chance to shop ( boo hoo ) because we were so busy. I desperately need double sided sticky tape and usually buy 24 rolls to keep me going in card lessons until the next show and never managed to get any. Does any one know of any one selling them at the show prices (12 rolls for £5? I think).
I did manage to get 2 Magnolia stamps ( gorgeous), and 2 Sizzix dies. (Keep checking the blog was new ideas)
The Greetings Farm and Whiff of Joy stamps went well and Hotshot crafts have new stocks in in 2 weeks as we sold out of many of them.
I met so many lovely people, a couple have already left lovely comments on my blog. I will visit all of you too.
Hello to the teachers from Birmingham who went to my old school Swanshurst Girls.
Hi to Dawn from Allpinkgirl. You must visit her blog. I'm envious because she is on the design team for Whiff of Joy. You must see her cards.
And a big thanks to mum and dad who visited sundy and brought us sandwiches, cakes and drinks!
I was also asked for my autograph!!!!. Perhaps I'll be famous one day, watch out Dawn Bibby !!!!!
Anyway I'm leaving you with pictures of me demonstrating at NEC taken by some of my friends who come to my card lessons. Goodness, what faces I pull!!!!
See you soon

First day at the NEC

A very tired hello to everyone
What a great and busy day we had at the NEC today. We sold out of some of the new packs of Promarkers and this is only the first day!!. But don't worry there will be more delivered tomorrow.
It was lovely to see faces I recognized from Ally Pally and Newbury, namely Colette and her sister Sue(?). Thanks for coming over and saying hello. And what a surprise when I looked up and saw Crystaltips. Also it was great to see Aunty Pat and her friend Gina and Theresa, who works with my husband, and her mum . Hello too to Chris from New Zealand who has just become a Grandma and is stocking up on craft stash while here and to Tracey who is new to stamping. There were so many I have seen before so hello to all of you. It was like meeting up with old friends.
I'm not at the show tomorrow as it is my full day at school ( my proper job!! well it pays for craft!!!)
but I will be there Sat and Sun so come on over and say hello and see what we have on offer at the Hotshotcrafts stall.

My first award!!!

Just got back from a lovely, hot holiday in Portugal. I was thrilled to find that Scrappymax has given me my first ever award. Thank you so much Max. You have made my day.
It appears I have to list 5 things about myself and then pass the award to 5 others so here goes

1. I am totally addicted to card making. There just aren't enough hours in the day for me.
2. I have been a Donny Osmond fan since the age of 11 ( I'm 50 next year) and have seen him, the brothers and Marie in concert several times.
3. I love America and have been there 9 times( Florida, New York, San Fran, Vegas, Utah, San Diego, Los Angeles).
4. I am very forgetful and my family are convinced I am going deaf because I am always asking them to repeat what they said.
5. My kids drive me mad but I wouldn't be without them and my husband is extremely tolerant about my craft addiction!!!!!

I will pass this award to
Kjerstin You were one of the first people to view my blog and leave comments
Dawny P. Always inspiring
Lyndsey Marie for advice on starting my own blog and helping me spend too much money in her shop!!!!
Mindy for the inspiration she gives with her cards and scrapbook pages
Cindy Your cards are always spectacular

p.s. I need my son to show me how to put the award picture here but he is at work. He put it in my side bar for me. You may be able to take the picture from there.
